Planned and Preventative Maintenance (PPM)

Prevention is always better than cure, and planned maintenance is a proven and cost-effective way to maximise and retain the value of your property. It extends the life cycle of your assets. For example, a roofing and guttering maintenance programme will reduce potentially costly damage from floods and leaks.

Turnpower can help you minimise your property expenditure by creating a maintenance schedule to minimise breakdowns and failures. We work alongside you to compile an assets register and agree on the right level of maintenance for each facility.

Non-critical issues are grouped together to be completed in one pre-arranged visit and so reducing the number of call outs.

Planned Lighting Maintenance

At Turnpower we use our 25 years experience to deliver a bespoke re-lamping service that meets your business needs, whatever that business may be.

From our considerable experience with reactive lighting repairs, we are keenly aware that all too frequently ‘one-off’ breakdown costs create large holes in maintenance budgets. Emergency rates, travelling time, plant and equipment all combine to make replacing a single lamp an expensive luxury.

At Turnpower, we offer a free survey and quotation service for planned re-lamping visits at an agreed frequency, based on the type and quality of the preferred lamps and gear. We are also able to suggest improvements to the energy efficiency of the lamps and systems in use – we never forget that in most organisations, lighting accounts for up to 40% of total electricity costs.

Key benefits of this integrated approach are:

● Budgeted costs.
● Minimal lighting failures.
● Effective use of energy.
● Optimum lighting levels.
● Conformance with H & S Requirements.
● Compliant lamp disposal/recycling.

Periodic Testing & Inspection

As an NICEIC approved contractor, Turnpower is able to provide periodic inspection and testing to fixed installations to meet the current IEE wiring regulations (BS 7671:2008 and Part P 1995 of the Building Regulations). We are also authorised to provide certification to this demanding standard, including detailed reports on any defects requiring attention.

In addition to fixed installations, which should be inspected every 5 years for offices and retail premises, we undertake Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) on all appliances and equipment that can be moved from area to area and reconnected to the supply by a plug & socket system. All commercial premises are required by the Electricity at Work Regulations, to undertake PAT testing on a regular basis subject to the nature of their work.

Importantly, we are also approved to undertake annual, full duration, tests of all luminaries and signs forming a building’s emergency lighting system. Reports and defect schedules can be provided and all necessary remedial work is undertaken.
