Health & Safety

Safety in all our activities ranks equally with our other principal business objectives and Turnpower is committed to maintaining an environment that ensures ‘front line focus’ on all safety issues. All our work practices meet the stringent requirements of the Turnpower Health & Safety Policy and conform to current legislation.

Investors in People

Turnpower Services are proud to be a certified Investor in People which ensures the continuous development and skills of our team. We know the value our people have in our business and the impact they have on yours is critical to the success of both.

Achieving and retaining accreditation reflects the Company’s major investment in training and development, and demonstrates our focus on quality staff throughout the Company. We really value our employees and recognise the massive contribution they make to the success of the business. People are what make an organisation, and the Investors in People Framework helps us, help every member of our Staff, be the best that they can be.

The Investors award is recognised worldwide and is the only Government-backed national quality standard that focusses on people. It also has the backing of the CBI, TUC, IoD and all the major political parties. To reach accreditation, participating companies must demonstrate their ability to Lead, Support and Improve.

Of primary concern, is the safety of site staff and the general public. We are proud of our H&S record, and of the safety culture engendered in our staff

Health & Safety Matters

Turnpower is proud of its Health & Safety record and of the safety culture engendered throughout the organisation. It is Company Policy to provide first class working conditions for all staff and to develop working practices that maintain a safe, clean, operational environment for our clients, their customers and the general public.

We place great emphasis on both our training and instruction programmes and require all staff to achieve, as a minimum, CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) certification and attend annual Asbestos Awareness training. Where appropriate, individual operatives are required to qualify with both the IPAF & PASMA awarding bodies. We undertake a comprehensive programme of in-house Health & Safety Training Programmes and ‘Refresher Courses’.

In addition, our regular operative site meetings are supplemented with a variety of Tool Box Talks and we keep everybody up to date with new developments on the issue of Monthly Safety Bulletins.

Attaining the demanding standards required by such eminent risk management specialists as Safe Contractor and CHAS (Contractors Health & Safety Scheme) reflects and endorses our commitment to a demanding safety culture. At Turnpower, we see our continued accreditation as testimony to our commitment to achieving and exceeding customer expectations.
